  • Part of the problem with Greece is the Greeks are notorious tax evaders. And yes, their politicians kept borrowing to give them things they weren't paying for in exchange for continued support at the polls. They essentially burned the candle at both ends.

  • It wasn't that long ago when a high school diploma was the gold standard for a decent middle-class job. There were a lot more unskilled or semi-skilled jobs, and many employers provided training for new hires.

  • A couple of people have posted here indicating they are wealthy and are paying high tax rates already. I think there is a common misconception about taxes and the wealthy. The "merely wealthy" or maybe we should call them the "working wealthy" do in fact pay a high rate.

  • I'm not sure what tax credit they are talking about, and the article didn't attempt to explain it. An illegal can't get a valid social security number, but the law requires those who need a number for tax purposes to get an ITIN number.
